Presenter:
Wanda Ramer, CMD, RT(R)(T), is a Medical Dosimetrist at Atrium Health in Rock Hill, SC. She fell in love with radiation oncology during an internship at a veterinary medical school. Since that first day of seeing the potential cures for cancer, she never looked back. Wanda became a radiation therapist and, within two years of working, moved into dosimetry. Having developed many protocols and procedures, planning techniques and workflows during her time as a staff dosimetrist, Wanda continues to implement innovative approaches as a lead dosimetrist, focusing on FMEA, efficient planning, and patient safety. In furthering her career as the Radiation Oncology Technical Manager of a large, progressive facility, cohesive, collaborative teamwork in a non-punitive environment became Wanda’s priority.
Today, Wanda practices her first love of dosimetry, striving daily to produce a cohesive quality team within my department to provide the safest, highest quality, and most efficient patient care available in our area.
