This webinar will review planning considerations that must be taken into account when planning a proton case with metal implants in the beam path.

  1. Review planning considerations that must be observed when planning with metal in the target.
  2. Learn how to create planning structures that control spot placement.
  3. Learn how to manually edit spots using RayStation spot editing tools.
  4. Review examples of plans that were created using this planning method.

Shadonna Maes is a full-time dosimetrist at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Proton Therapy Center. Before joining the team in Seattle she was a dosimetrist at New Jersey Proton Therapy center for 5 years. She also worked as a Radiation therapist at Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute before pursuing a career in dosimetry. When she is not working she enjoys traveling, hiking and biking with her family.
