This session will provide an overview of one of RayStation’s advanced optimization techniques, Co-Optimization. Today, there are still significant challenges with optimizing multiple targets in close proximity to each other and efficiently planning a non-integrated boost to the total dose over the treatment course. We will focus on showcasing the benefits in treatment plan quality and efficiency while optimizing multiple treatment targets and/or non-integrated boost simultaneously. We will share Inova Health’s clinical experience on how Co-Optimization was easy to adopt and has provided a simplified solution for complex treatment planning.

Learner Outcomes:

  1. Describe how Co-Optimization can provide a benefit in plan quality and efficient planning in different clinical scenarios
  2. Create a co-optimized plan with multiple target volumes and/or a plan with non-integrated boost for varying prescriptions and isocenters
  3. List the benefits of optimizing two-beam sets in a plan simultaneously with a combined objective function list
  4. Observe the different types of treatment courses that benefit from Co-Optimization planning
