Project management is the process of systematically planning, organizing, and then executing a pre-determined set of steps in order to maximize resource use and achieve specific objectives.  As medical dosimetrists, project management can help improve productivity and reduce stress.

Donna Royster has held leadership positions in healthcare for twenty + years.  In 2013 she joined the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina with Atrium Healthcare.  Donna holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, a certified project manager (PMP)® as well as certified in healthcare compliance (CHC)® with the Health Care Compliance Association. Her focus is special projects within radiation oncology practices with an emphasis on revenue cycle, compliance, staffing, and productivity.

Currently, her work with the Levine Cancer Institute involves maximizing opportunities for improvement for all areas of the revenue cycle process as it relates to radiation oncology and serves as the facility compliance coordinator for the Radiation Oncology service line.  She works with staffing models in freestanding joint ventures and hospital departments to emphasize efficiency through process improvement with focused project management that impacts the bottom line. In addition, she is the administrative director for two freestanding radiation oncology clinics of a joint venture between Atrium and Tenet healthcare systems.
